Products
In the Driving Assistance Domain, in 2007, Valeo Interior Controls made important contributions to the following:
- Ultrasonic Park Assist Systems which facilitate parking maneuvers, using four or eight ultrasound sensors at the front and rear of the vehicle;
- the Park4UTM park assist system, which allows a car to be parked in just a few seconds without the driver even touching the wheel. Using ultrasound technology, it makes parking maneuvers safer and more comfortable;
- the lane departure warning system, LaneVue™, which alerts the driver to unintentional lane departures via an audible or vibrating signal when activated by a camera located in the upper part of the windscreen;
- OptiVeo™, vision systems platform. At the front of the vehicle, a state-of-the-art, highly sensitive compact camera positioned behind the rearview mirror provides a permanent view of the road and fulfils several functions, including automatic switching between full-beam and dipped headlamps, infrared night vision and automatic detection of speed restrictions, and informs the driver of current speed limits via an eye-level display;
- the blind spot detection system, alerting drivers to the presence of any vehicle in their rearward blind spots, using the multiple beams of two radars built into the car’s rear bumper.
In this Domain, Valeo Interior Controls develops and produces detection systems based on the following technologies:
- ultrasound and infrared sensors;
- radars;
- cameras.
To the Confort Enhancement Domain, Valeo Interior Controls contributed products from Switches and HMI, focusing on:
- the faceplate of the central console, which can accommodate controls for the radio, air conditioning and other functions. The available technologies (touchpad, capacitive sensors, magnetic indexing, black panel) meet the increased demand among automakers for perceived quality. The faceplate offers new styling possibilities, is easy to fit and to adapt to a multiplatform deployment;
- the development of an intelligent interface surface, or touch-sensitive controls: this innovative solution offers a telephone keypad and handwriting recognition on a single interface with a simple and discreet black panel assembly. The range of feedback possibilities allows automakers to highlight their brand;
- E-Media™ offers the ideal compromise between managing a large number of functions and ease of use. E-Media™ is a multifunctional control interface that reduces the number of switches on the center console and improves ergonomics for the driver; As soon as the user places his hand on one of the joysticks, the screen displays the menu for the corresponding function groups: audio, air-conditioning or communication. The joysticks are easy to customize in terms of the number of movements, touch detection, magnetic indexing, illuminated fixed central symbol and finishing;
- the development of a complete range of torque sensors and steering angle calculators (angle sensors, torque sensors and combinations of both);
- the first applications of the protective housing for the power-supply management.
For this Domain, Valeo Interior Controls develops and produces the following product ranges:
- top column modules;
- cabin comfort controls and control panels;
- steering angle sensors (angle and torque sensors);
- electronic control units.
