Operating culture

  • Total Quality: a shared requirement

Total Quality is a state of mind at Valeo. Total Quality requires the involvement of everyone at all levels and at all times. The Group heightens awareness of non-quality factors and encourages employees to work together to identify these factors and then correct them.
  • 5 Axes methodology

To ensure customer satisfaction, Valeo uses the 5 Axes methodology - a cornerstone of the Group’s operating culture. This methodology is applied by all employees and suppliers all over the world to deliver "zero defects" to customers and provide them with the optimal quality regardless of the production plant.

    • San Gen Shugi

The 5 Axes methodology is reinforced by the San Gen Shugi attitude, based on the "3 reals":
    - Gen-ba means "real place".
    - Gen-butsu means "real parts".
    - Gen-jitsu means "reality" (measurable facts).
It is founded on individual responsibility and teamwork.

    In concrete terms:
1- Speak with facts for a better understanding of the reality in the field.
2- Go to the shop floor, to the place where it all happens, to understand the reality. This is a more effective method than simply reading a report.
3- Look at the real part or the real service provided (whether good or bad) and analyze it while focusing on the facts.
