Dual Direct Drive motors enable a drastic reduction of the weight and size of the wiping system, still improving safety.

The dual direct drive front wiper system is a new, lighter and more energy efficient system. Each arm is powered by its own reversible motor, operating in total synchronization with the other, the mechanical linkage being eliminated. With the new generation of lightweight motors and optimized efficiency, a mass reduction of 30% (1.7kg) is achieved, reducing the vehicle’s CO2 emissions by 0.17 grams per kilometer.

The Dual Direct Drive Motor for wiper systems is a compact solution with two arms, each powered by its own motor, eliminating the linkage driven by a single large motor.

The two motors are electronically synchronized.

The alternating movement is driven by the motor itself, which changes the direction of rotation when the wipers complete each movement, instead of by a conventional linkage/crank plate system.
