
Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of Sanofi-Aventis
Jérôme Contamine was appointed Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of Sanofi-Aventis on March 16, 2009. He was previously with Veolia, which he joined in 2000 as Executive Vice-President, Finance, before becoming Executive Vice-President responsible for cross-functional activities in 2002 and Senior Executive Vice-President of Veolia Environnement in 2003 until January 16, 2009.
Between 1988 and 2000, he held several posts within the Elf group including Financing and Treasury Director (1991 to 1994), Deputy Director, Europe and the USA for the Exploration and Production Division, CEO of Elf Norway (1995-1998), and Director of Continental European and Central Asian Operations for the Exploration and Production Division (2000).
Jérôme Contamine graduated from École Polytechnique and École Nationale d’Administration and is a special advisor to the French Audit Commission (Cour des Comptes).
