AT THE FOREFRONT OF AI IN THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY Valeo began integrating artificial intelligence into its technologies more than 20 years ago, starting with the first use of machine learning in front cameras. In 2017, a new milestone was reached with the creation of Valeo.ai, the world’s first research center dedicated to automotive industry AI. Today, AI is integrated into all of the Group’s operations and is incorporated into all of its perception systems. A clear goal was set for 2025: to accelerate Valeo’s transformation through AI, with top priority given to research and development, particularly through the AI4ALL program. One step ahead The ability to move faster, further, and more competitively: at Valeo, artificial intelligence has become a key driver that is fundamentally transforming R&D, from software design to system validation. Thanks to generative AI, the virtualization of development environments, and the automation of complex tasks, development cycles are shortened, costs are optimized, and performance is enhanced. AI also complements the teams’ expertise by allowing them to focus on high-value-added innovation. AI: a game-changer in R&D While AI continues to transform R&D, a new phase lies ahead: the large-scale deployment of generative design. In 2025, the Group partnered with Dassault Systèmes for the generative design of mechanical parts and with Zuken for the design of printed circuit boards. These technologies pave the way for advanced design automation. They enhance product performance, shorten development times, and boost the Group’s productivity over the long term.
