4 février 2026 – Paris, France – Valeo is proud to announce that Christophe Périllat, Chief Executive Officer, has been named “Automotive Personality of the Year” by Le Journal de l’Automobile*. This prestigious award recognises his leading role in transforming the automotive industry towards greater technology, safety and sustainability. This distinction also highlights his commitment to the implementation of European local content measures and his constant dedication to the industrial sovereignty of the European automotive industry.

Christophe Périllat, Chief Executive Officer of Valeo, said: “I am deeply honoured to receive the title of Automotive Personality of the Year. I sincerely thank Le Journal de l’Automobile and the members of the jury for this distinction. Above all, it reflects the hard work and constant commitment of the Valeo teams. It is thanks to their expertise, passion and capacity for innovation that we are working together to design a future of safer, more sustainable and more affordable mobility for all. I am proud to lead this group and to defend a European industrial sector that is more strategic than ever.”

Christophe Périllat joined the Valeo Group in 2000 and held numerous management positions in increasingly important entities within the Group, becoming Chief Operating Officer in 2011, Deputy Chief Executive Officer in 2020, Chief Operating Officer in 2021 and Chief Executive Officer in January 2022.

In November 2025, Christophe Périllat presented the Elevate 2028 strategic plan, designed to continue the development of Valeo, an industrial and technological leader, thanks to its robust fundamentals and solid growth prospects.

At the 2024 Paris Motor Show, Christophe Périllat called for support for the European automotive industry in the face of international competition and the introduction of customs barriers. This call for a minimum European content in vehicles and industrial sovereignty in Europe was quickly supported and relayed by other industry players and authorities in France and throughout Europe.
