Valeo joins the LexisNexis Top 100 Global Innovators 2026

March 04, 2026 – Paris, France – Valeo, the key technology partner of mobility players worldwide, announces its entry into the LexisNexis Intellectual Property Solutions Top 100 Global Innovators 2026.

The annual benchmark list highlights the power, geographic reach, and exceptional technical relevance of Valeo’s patent portfolio.

Valeo dedicates approximately 10,9% of its annual sales to R&D (around 2,3 billions euros in 2025). With over 32,000 active patents and a global network of 59 R&D centers, the Group deploys its inventions internationally, notably relying on the growing contribution of its centers based in Asia.

Christophe Le Ligné, Valeo Group Research & Development Vice President, stated: “Our entry into the LexisNexis global Top 100 recognition validates our deep-seated culture of innovation. This culture, coupled with open partnerships with startups, universities, and technology companies, ensures that Valeo remains at the forefront of automotive technology and can rapidly commercialize next-generation solutions.”

Well beyond the volume of patents filed, the LexisNexis ranking rewards their “technical relevance,” meaning the influence of Valeo’s patents on industry standards.

The patents filed by Valeo’s R&D teams focus on three technological domains:

  • Electrification and Thermal management (Batteries & Datacenters): Battery cooling solutions, rare-earth-free electric motors, and extension of thermal expertise to the datacenter market.
  • Autonomous Vehicle and Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV): Patents on sensors, cleaning systems, automated parking, and increasing protection of software innovations.

Smart Lighting: Redefining safety via adaptive high-definition systems capable of communicating with the environment.
