The company Klimatizační Systémy Automobilů was established in 1994 by Siemens and Ateso. In July 1995 Valeo bought the company from Siemens. In September 1998 it became Valeo Autoklimatizace s. r. o. In January 2008 it was named Valeo Autoklimatizace k. s. Since then, several extensions have been built; the last one adding 6,500 m² of production and storage areas. A new extension of 3,500m2 is currently in progress and will mainly include new storage spaces.
In 2019 Valeo opened a second factory dedicated to manufacturing comfort and driving assistance systems. It comprises 11,000 sq.m of production space and 2,300 sq.m of office space. Valeo invested 35 million euros (CZK 880 million) in the construction of the plant. Over 15 million ultrasonic sensors – key enablers for autonomous driving and automatic parking – will be produced annually on its new production lines.
Valeo’s existing plant in Rakovník will continue to manufacture air conditioning systems and front-end modules. These systems can help to reduce vehicle fuel consumption and, therefore, CO2 emissions.
