Valeo at Auto China 2026: Leading the Era of Technology Expansion with High-Tech Solutions

April 22, 2026 - Paris, France – From April 24 to May 3, 2026, Valeo will be showcasing its latest innovations at the 2026 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (Auto China) at Booth #B2D01 in the Capital International Exhibition Center (CIECC).

As the Chinese market shifts from radical volume scaling to technology expansion, Valeo reaffirms its role as a strategic partner to all key actors of the automotive industry, delivering cutting-edge technology at “China Speed”.

Christophe Périllat, CEO of Valeo said “the ‘fitness center’ analogy perfectly captures the high-speed development of the Chinese market. Today, as the market enters a new phase of ‘Technology Expansion’, endurance and scale become just as vital as speed. In this hyper-competitive landscape, automakers need partners who can guarantee both cutting-edge innovation and flawless industrialization. Valeo is leading this shift by leveraging our massive local footprint, including 10 R&D centers and over 4,300 engineers, to deliver our most advanced solutions in electrification, ADAS, and intelligent lighting at the demanding ‘China Speed’. Our unique combination of extreme innovation and industrial excellence strengthens our ability to provide safer, smarter, and more sustainable technologies for our partners, both established leaders and new entrants, in China and beyond.”

All the technologies presented by Valeo at Auto China 2026 are described in our press kit.

Strategic Innovations for the Next Generation of Mobility

Valeo presents at Auto China a portfolio of integrated systems designed at ‘China Speed’, drastically reducing development cycles to match the pulse of local innovation while maintaining the highest global safety standards:

  • Electrification at “China Speed”: Valeo has set a new global benchmark by moving from concept to industrialization in record time, with its 5-in-1 “Deep Integration” Module and Next-Generation Dual Inverter both reaching SOP in early 2026. This agility is highlighted by the CES 2026 Innovation Award-winning Compact 5-Way Refrigerant Valve, which replaces four valves to reduce weight and complexity and to optimize vehicle range. To power the Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV), Predict4Range software optimizes energy to extend range by up to 24% , while immersive cooling is a key enabler to 5C ultra-fast charging (20-80% in 12 minutes). By mastering compactness with the Valeo eSilentFlow module – saving 100mm of space – Valeo is redefining architectures for high-performance, scalable electrification. With the latest generation of On-Board Chargers and DCDC converters, leveraging GaN (Gallium Nitride) and planar transformers technologies, Valeo drastically increases power density to support better compactness and efficiency.
  • Autonomous & Connected Systems: As China scales Level 3 and above autonomy, Valeo provides the essential “eyes” for the revolution. The Valeo SCALA™ 3 Evo LIDAR, capable of scanning the environment 25 times per second even from behind the windshield, is a critical component for safe autonomous driving. Valeo is also democratizing high-end safety with its Smart Safety 360 (VSS360), which now supports Highway Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) for the mass market. Beyond safety, Valeo is redefining the in-car experience with Valeo Racer, an immersive XR gaming experience that uses the vehicle’s real-time perception data and ADAS sensors to transform the journey into a live gameplay arena.
  • Redefining Safety and Style: Valeo is merging hardware excellence with software intelligence to define the next generation of visibility. The Group is showcasing its breakthrough front lighting systems integrating a “Coast to Coast” appliqué for the Xpeng P7, featuring a 1.5-meter edge-to-edge light signature that creates a bold, modern aesthetic. Through a strategic partnership with Appotronics, Valeo also introduces Color Ultra High Definition Laser Projection, transforming headlamps into versatile tools capable of projecting navigation cues for safety or providing immersive outdoor entertainment.

Entering the world of physical AI: Humanoid Robotics

Valeo is leveraging its deep expertise in sensing, motion, and AI to accelerate the integration of humanoid robotics into the industrial landscape. It has opened a “humanoid training center” in Nanjing to accelerate their integration into its facilities. A demo will be presented for the first time on Valeo booth to illustrate Valeo’s capability in the field.

Valeo also masters a comprehensive portfolio of automotive-grade software and components that can be adapted to humanoid and AGV needs. Beyond the use of robots in its own factories, the Group will market the solutions to potential customers for the first time.

Valeo, a key player in China’s automotive industry

Valeo has been in China since 1994. With 22 production sites, 10 R&D centers and over 17,000 employees – including 4,300 engineers – Valeo has forged solid partnerships throughout the Chinese automotive industry, with both established leaders and new players in the sector. In 2025, Chinese automakers accounted for 63% of the Group’s orders in China, which is now its largest market worldwide, accounting for 15% of total sales.

“To thrive in a consolidating market, cost-competitiveness and technological sovereignty are non-negotiable. We have drastically reduced our development cycles to match the ‘China Speed’ without ever compromising our stringent global safety standards. Today, we don’t just localize; we co-create. A prime example is our localized production of Silicon Carbide (SiC) inverters and deep integrated power electronics. By manufacturing these critical components locally, we provide Chinese OEMs with around 5% efficiency gains in their powertrains, directly translating to better range and lower battery costs for our partners. We are no longer just shipping hardware; we are providing the decoupled software architectures that define the modern vehicle.”, says Song Zhou, Valeo China President.

More About The Chinese Market in 2026

Unrivaled Scale and Performance

China has firmly established itself as the global “fitness center” for the automotive industry, moving from a period of radical volume scaling expansion to a phase of technology expansion. In 2025, the market demonstrated its staggering scale by producing 34 million vehicles, representing one-third of global production. The shift toward New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) is now structural, with NEVs accounting for 50% of passenger car sales. Total 2025 NEV volume, comprising both domestic and export markets, hit 16.5 million units, with Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) accounting for 64% of that total. This high-pressure environment has also turned China into a global export powerhouse, with total exports reaching over 7 million units. For Valeo, this market demands extreme agility, as product cycles are now measured in months rather than years.

Key Trends: Intelligence, Emotion, and Robotics

The Chinese automotive landscape is being redefined by strategic trends, led by the rise of the Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) and Autonomous Mobility. Beyond simple transportation, the car is becoming a “Third Living Space,” catering to an emotional economy where in-car experiences include AI companions, smart fragrances, and ambient lighting. We are also witnessing the “Silver Mobility” revolution, with safety interfaces specifically designed for an aging population, and the mainstreaming of Robotaxis, now active in 15 cities across China. Furthermore, 2026 marks a watershed year for Embodied AI, as humanoid robots begin to integrate into assembly lines. This convergence of “wheeled robots” and “bipedal robots” allows Valeo to leverage its automotive-grade sensors, thermal management, software, and AI expertise for the broader robotics revolution.
