Valeo recognized with A score for Climate and Water Security
Valeo has been recognized for its leadership in corporate transparency and performance on climate change by the global environmental non-profit CDP, securing an A grade for both Climate and Water Security.
February 4, 2026 – Paris, France — In 2025, Valeo achieved the top A grade from CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) for both Climate and Water Security, placing the company once again in the top tier of the leading global non-profit’s environmental disclosure system.
Based on data reported through CDP’s 2025 Climate Change questionnaire, Valeo is one of a small number of companies that earned an A rating out of more than 20,000 companies, a score achieved by only 4%.
CDP’s annual environmental disclosure and scoring process is widely recognized as the standard of corporate environmental transparency. The assessment standards get stricter every year, and keeping a high score requires continuous improvement in sustainability performance and strategy. A detailed and independent methodology is used by CDP to assess these companies, allocating a score of A to D, based on the comprehensiveness of disclosure, awareness and management of environmental risks and demonstration of best practices associated with environmental leadership, such as setting ambitious and meaningful targets to reduce its carbon footprint.
Christophe Périllat, Valeo’s CEO said: “Achieving the highest ‘A’ ranking from CDP in both Water Security and Climate is a significant recognition of our ongoing efforts. This dual ‘A’ reflects the success of our CAP 50 decarbonization program, our dedicated Water Protection Program, and our commitment to promoting sustainability throughout our value chain. At Valeo, we believe in a holistic approach to sustainable development, working with our entire ecosystem to address the automotive industry’s role in cutting CO2 emissions and fulfilling our responsibility as a global industrial leader in environmental protection.”
With its CAP 50 plan and portfolio of innovative solutions for decarbonising mobility, Valeo is a key contributor to climate change mitigation. In 2025, the Group achieved its emission reduction targets across its entire value chain, with GHG (green house gas) emissions estimated at 39 Mt CO2 eq, well below its target of 45.3 Mt as defined within the SBTi trajectory. The company will continue to work towards its 2030 commitments (-75% for its own activities and -15% for its purchases and product use).
The Group is also committed to water protection, with a global action plan to minimise consumption and optimise wastewater quality, targeting sites most exposed to water stress risks. Since 2008, Valeo’s total water consumption relative to sales has decreased by 60%. Over the last six years, the Group has reduced its water consumption by 18% in absolute terms. Sites exposed to the risk of water stress are subject to reinforced measures and monitoring in order to significantly reduce their needs and their local impact on water resources. One of the sites at the forefront of water resource management is the Valeo Martos site in Spain that committed to a plan to reduce its water consumption by 75% by 2026, compared with 2022.
