Valeo, the only European company in the automotive sector to feature among the 2015 top 100 global innovators.
Valeo is back among the 2015 Thomson Reuters Top 100 Global Innovators. This recognition reflects the strategic importance which the Group attaches to innovation, and to turning its innovations into reality by filing global patents.
Guillaume Devauchelle, Group VP Innovation, comments on the award:
Guillaume Devauchelle - Our presence among the Thomson Reuters Top 100 Global Innovators testifies to the quality of our innovations and of our intellectual protection. The analysis, which is carried out very painstakingly, using very accurate criteria, covers the industrial world as a whole, and not just the automotive sector. So it’s an excellent benchmark. Obviously our finest reward is the percentage of our innovations which then turns into revenues. A successful innovation is one which turns into an order!
G. D. - First of all, intensity, number, volume, diversity. Each of our product lines is innovative. Then there is the focus: all these innovations contribute to the company’s two technological orientations: reducing energy consumption and intuitive driving. Lastly, agility, with an increasingly important part played by Innovation, in cooperation with universities, start-ups, major Groups, technology providers. The number of agreements is growing fast.
G. D. - Valeo has a very clear vision of its future over the next ten years, with the challenges perfectly defined in the Technological Development Plan, but also of the immediate stages to come, for they are the first elements in our roadmap. And Valeo is ambitious! The challenge is to simultaneously reconcile the various objectives, whether they be technical, financial, related to globalization, to changes in society … at the right pace. And the innovation tempo is getting faster and faster!
