Thermal Management Coolant System

A/C Condensers

Last update: 30 Aug. 2023

What is an A/C Condenser?

Located in the front cooling module, air conditioning condensers are heat exchangers that are part of the refrigerant loop (A/C system). When going through this type of exchangers, the refrigerant becomes liquid, or put differently “condenses”, to release the heat it carries in the air that crosses the exchanger.

In R-744 A/C & heat pump systems, gas coolers have exactly the same function.

A/C Condensers can sometimes include an evaporation function – they are the called “evaporative-condensers”. Evaporators are exchangers that provide cold air while drying the air that goes through it to demist the windshield.

What are our A/C Condensers benefits?

  • Improved cooling performance thanks to micro-tube design and compact crimping process
  • Reduced comsuption thanks to compressor torque decrease
  • Valeo is a leading supplier with more than 400 references of air conditioning condensers for car of all sizes adapted to all usages: water cooled condenser, evaporative condenser...
