Electrical Oil Pumps (EOP) are mainly used in all types of transmissions (Automatic Transmission – AT, dry or wet Dual Clutch Transmission – DCT, Dedicated Hybrid Transmission – DHT, Continuous Variable Transmission – CVT, Manual Transmission – MT, reducer) for lubrication and cooling (gears, clutches, eDrive) and in a lower proportion also for actuation (of clutches, hydraulic gear shifting, hydraulic park-lock). For both of those application fields, Valeo also offers Smart Pump, being EOP (Electric Oil Pump) with a combination of active functions.
The interior radar-based occupant monitoring system represents a significant innovation in automotive safety, leveraging advanced technology to enhance passenger protection and comfort. Positioned at the top of the cabin, the interior radar utilizes sophisticated algorithms and sensors to analyze the cabin context effectively. This analysis enables the system to detect the presence of living beings in the car, including newborns and children up to six years old, ensuring their safety during travel, as well as animals.
Premium Adaptive Driving Beam (ADB) technology helps maximizing light in all road conditions for improved comfort and safety, directing the beam of light only where it is needed and reducing glare for oncoming drivers.
Centricam is a camera cleaning solution to ensure continuous visibility in rain and snow, it reduces consumption of liquid when cleaning bugs, mud and salt. This camera cleaning system is the only solution enabling dirt detection at starting of the car. It also has smart on-demand activation based on image processing.
The Driver Monitoring System (DMS) is an important advancement in automotive safety, integrating an interior camera and Electronic Control Unit (ECU) to monitor the driver’s behavior. The DMS enhances passenger safety and meets regulatory standards by continuously assessing the driver’s attentiveness, mitigating risks of fatigue and distraction, thus reducing accidents.
Our eAccess Belt 14 version is already on the market, with, for example, the Citroën AMI, a small 100% electric 48V urban vehicle that can be driven without a driver’s license and is ideal for commuting in urban areas.
At the core of upcoming Software-Defined-Vehicles are Valeo’s cutting-edge Zone Controllers. These Zone control units deliver two crucial functions: they facilitate high-speed data transfer and manage power distribution across various sections, or “zones,” of the vehicle.
Our strategic partnership with Leoni, combining leading competencies in ADAS and Power Electronics, underpins the development of our Zone Controllers. Our holistic understanding of vehicle architecture and wiring systems allows us to deliver an optimized Zone Controller system in terms of packing, power dissipation, and load balancing.
High voltage batteries are expensive and very sensitive to temperature variations, even when the vehicle is stopped and the battery is being charged. Valeo designs and manufactures compact and cost-competitive solutions (refrigerant, liquid and air cooling) to cater for all types of powertrains: hybrids in Japan and the US; plug-in hybrids (PHEV) and full electric (EV) elsewhere. For PHEVs, Valeo full exchanger solution on refrigerant is serial since 2015. For EVs, Valeo offers ultra-performing liquid battery coolers for prismatic and cylindrical Li-ion battery packs (China, the US and Europe).
