The Valeo 12V iStARS Belt starter alternator or Starter Generator (BSG) is installed in place of an alternator. The combustion engine is started immediately and silently thanks to the belt that permanently links the system to the crankshaft.
Electrical Oil Pumps (EOP) are mainly used in all types of transmissions (Automatic Transmission – AT, dry or wet Dual Clutch Transmission – DCT, Dedicated Hybrid Transmission – DHT, Continuous Variable Transmission – CVT, Manual Transmission – MT, reducer) for lubrication and cooling (gears, clutches, eDrive) and in a lower proportion also for actuation (of clutches, hydraulic gear shifting, hydraulic park-lock). For both of those application fields, Valeo also offers Smart Pump, being EOP (Electric Oil Pump) with a combination of active functions.
The 48V eMotor (electric motor) is a reversible electric machine, which embeddes its electronic (inverter) and which is able to be integrated on all architectures beyond P0 (belt). The electrical motor can be positioned either on the input shaft of the gearbox (P2 outside, P2.5 inside), on the output shaft of the gearbox (P3) or with a gearbox (eDrive) on the rear axle drivetrain (P4).
